The 187th Battalion was a division of Clone Troopers that served under the command of Jedi General Mace Windu during the Clone Wars. They were deployed in the Battle for Anaxes when Admiral Trench launched a Separatist attack on the Republic shipyards.
History[]
The 187th fought alongside Master Windu on Anaxes with a column of AT-TEs against waves of Separatist ground units. They later participated in the attack on the main Republic shipbuilding complex, rappelling in through the skylights alongside the 212th Attack Battalion and 501st Legion. The battle ended with the Republic defeating Trench's forces and taking back its shipyards.
Equipment[]
The 187th wore Phase II Clone Trooper Armor with maroon markings and used DC-15S blasters and grappling gear.
Behind the scenes[]
The clone unit assigned to Mace Windu was originally named the "187th Legion" and featured purple markings on their armor. However, according to Lucasfilm Story Group member Leland Chee, the producers of The Clone Wars decided against using this color scheme when designing Clone Commander Ponds in the season 1 episode, "Liberty on Ryloth." They instead used maroon markings, which carried over to the design of Windu's clone troopers in the Bad Batch arc. Hasbro's action figure for these troopers later identified them as the "187th Battalion."
