The AAT driver battle droid was a specialized variant of the B1 Battle Droid programmed to operate AATs. The green markings could identify AAT drivers throughout their bodies. Unlike most battle droids, AAT drivers depended on operating vehicles in battle and did not serve as foot soldiers.

Ambush

Several AAT drivers were present during Yoda and Lieutenant Thire's mission to Rugosa. They were ordered by Asajj Ventress to stop them; however, all were effortlessly defeated by Yoda.

Kidnapped

An AAT driver droid on Kiros

A single AAT driver battle droid could be seen standing near Count Dooku and a Tactical Droid on the planet of Kiros. It later took orders from Darts D'Nar.
