B1 Battle Droids were a variant of Battle Droid that served the Trade Federation and later the Confederacy of Independent Systems before and during the Clone Wars.

They were known for being the most common unit of the Separatists' army, nicknamed "clankers" by the Clone Troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. Making up the backbone of the Confederate fighting force, the B1s were also known for being often dim-witted, but, in battle, where they lacked intelligence, they made up for in numbers.
