Premise[]

Picking up where Volume I left off, this episode begins on the battle-scarred world of Hypori, in the wreckage of a crashed Republic starship. Inside, General Grievous continues to cut through a team of trapped Jedi warriors. It's up to a crack unit of heavily armed ARC troopers to come to the rescue.

Synopsis[]

Season 3 begins with ARC Troopers preparing for battle, lead by Commander Fordo aboard a lone gunship zooming through Hypori. The gunship approaches a downed Republic Cruiser, surrounded by super battle droids. The gunship drops dormant explosives amongst the droid crowd as the droids shoot at it. The gunship then bursts through a hole in the cruiser and lands. Fordo then sends two of his men to locate the the first two lifesigns (coming from the Shaak Ti - who was trapped under rubble and Aayla Secura - who was in the rafters). Fordo then told his men to follow him as he locate the third lifesign: Ki-Adi-Mundi. They run through the cruiser, where they find Ki-Adi fighting General Grievous. They begin shooting Grievous but he manages to escape. The gunship then comes and picks up Fordo, his team and Ki-Adi. Once inside, Ki-Adi is horrified to see Aayla and Shaak Ti unconscious on medical beds. Fordo says that they are stabilized and that they may survive. He then reveals that no one else survived, and Ki-Adi is appauled. Fordo then detonates the explosives while Grievous watches the ship fly away, stating that the Jedi "have only prolonged the inevitable".

The scene changes to Anakin Skywalker as a child on Dagobah with Qui-Gon Jinn. Qui-Gon tells Anakin to not be afraid and to enter the tree. Yoda then sighs. At the Jedi Council, the masters are discussing the war and General Grievous. Obi-Wan then suggests promoting Anakin to 'Knight status' to which some Jedi agree and some disagree. However, Yoda agrees and Anakin is knighted. He sends his former Padawan Braid to Padmé, where she places it in a box that also containes the necklace Anakin gave her in Episode I.
