The Crucible was a Jedi Training Cruiser used by the Jedi Order to transport groups of Jedi Initiates to Ilum to take part in the rite of passage known as the Gathering, in which they would harvest their lightsaber crystals. The ship was used from the days of the Old Republic to the Clone Wars to transport the younglings to Ilum. After their crystals had been collected, they crafted their lightsabers on the return trip, under the guidance of Professor Huyang.
