Desix was a desert planet in a remote part of the galaxy. Sometime around the Clone Wars, it seceded from the Galactic Republic and joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, the planet's governor, Tawni Ames, intended to keep Desix independent and told the Empire that her planet did not fall under Imperial jurisdiction. The Empire rejected her request and installed their own governor instead, removing Ames from power.
