Edmon Rampart was a male Vice Admiral who served in the Imperial Navy in the early days of the Galactic Empire. He spearheaded a campaign to issue chain codes to all galactic citizens. He was also a leading member of Project War-Mantle, an Imperial initiative to phase out the Clone Troopers with conscripted soldiers recruited from across the galaxy.
Biography[]
Cut and Run[]
Edmon Rampart was a human male who joined the ranks of the Imperial Military and attained the rank of Vice Admiral by the first weeks of the Galactic Empire. In this role, he initiated a new system of identifying and cataloging everyone in the galaxy called chain codes. Rampart was the face of a public announcement encouraging people to get their chain code.
In the message, Rampart praised the Empire for its generosity and explained the benefits of having a chain code, including the exchange of old currency to Imperial credits and passage aboard public starships. His message informed Cut Lawquane and Hunter that they would need to forge chain codes for Cut and his family so they could escape Saleucami without being discovered.
Replacements[]
Rampart arrived on Kamino at Moff Wilhuff Tarkin's request to oversee the training of recruited conscripts. He brought with him a squad of the most elite recruits they had trained thus far. Clone Commando Crosshair, former member of Clone Force 99, was selected to lead the squad. Rampart shared Tarkin's hopes that these conscripts, properly trained by veteran clones, would one day render the Clone Army obsolete. After the squad successfully destroyed a camp of rebels led by Saw Gerrera on Onderon, Tarkin departed Kamino and left Rampart in charge of refining the recruits' training.
