Gar Saxon was a Mandalorian Super Commando Commander of the Shadow Collective. Following the battle of Sundari, he was assigned by Prime Minister Almec to rescue Sith Lord Darth Maul from captivity on Stygeon.

Battle of Zanbar[]
After freeing Maul from captivity, Gar Saxon took him to Zanbar where the rest of their forces resided. Soon after, General Grievous traced Maul's escape craft and invaded the planet. Despite the Mandalorians' elite training, they were gradually overwhelmed by the Droid Army's onslaught. Saxon fought valiantly alongside his men even as they were mowed down. Having lost the battle, Saxon and Maul evacuated aboard Gauntlet fighters with the remainder of their force.
