The Clone Wars

Grey, formally known as CC-10/994, was a Clone Captain who served as second-in-command to Jedi General Depa Billaba during the later stages of the Clone Wars. He fought alongside Billaba and her padawan Caleb Dume in the Conquest of Kaller, where he expressed doubt that the Republic could overcome the Separatist Droid Army occupying the planet. However, the battle soon turned in their favor with the arrival of Clone Force 99. The experimental clones mowed down the droids and destroyed their artillery column.

The victory was cut short when Grey received a transmission from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who issued Order 66. This directive targeted all Jedi for execution for treason against the Republic. Captain Grey, forced by his control chip to obey, opened fire on Billaba. The Jedi sliced his blaster with her lightsaber but was soon overwhelmed by Grey's men. Billaba gave her life holding the clones off so her padawan Caleb could escape.

Equipment[]

Grey wore Phase II Clone Trooper Armor with a pale green design. He wore a pauldron on his left shoulder and carried a DC-15S in battle.

Personality and Traits[]

Grey exhibited leadership skills in combat and understood the severity of the situation on Kaller. Adhering to protocol, he deferred to General Depa Billaba for ultimate command and rebuffed the Bad Batch when they suggested an order to her. Like many clones, his behavior suggested bias against them due to their unique genetic disposition.

Although loyal to his general, his inhibitor chip forced him to obey Order 66 along with the rest of his men.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Grey first appeared in the comic Kanan 1, written by Greg Weisman, as a tie-in to Star Wars Rebels. His depiction in the comic varies slightly from his appearance in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Grey was originally a Clone Commander with red markings on his armor, while in the show, he is a captain with green armor markings.
  • In "Aftermath", Grey was identified only in the end credits rather than in-universe dialogue.
