Grotton was a newly appointed governor of the Galactic Empire sent to rule a Separatist planet called Desix. Arriving on Desix, he was captured by the Separatist Rebels until Commander Cody and Crosshair rescued him.

Grotton first appeared in one episode of the second season of the animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. He was voiced by Max Mittelman.
