Gupat Roshti was the governor of the Togrutan colony on the planet Kiros during the Clone Wars.
Biography[]
Kidnapped[]
As more and more neutral worlds joined the CIS, Jedi Master Yoda contacted governor Roshti in order to petition him to join the Galactic Republic. Roshti told Yoda that his people were not warriors, and thus they intended to negotiate with Count Dooku instead of casting off the colony's neutrality. Yoda warned the governor to be wary of Dooku but it was too late; the Separatists had already landed on the planet. Roshti, after ending Master Yoda's transmission, approached Dooku and his landing party inquiring as to the reason the Confederacy had decided to send a military force to his peaceful planet. Dooku responded that his intention was merely a peaceful occupation to protect the vulnerable colony from the Republic who, according to Dooku, wanted to take over Roshti's planet. Governor Roshti accepted Dooku's explanation, not knowing that moments after their conversation ended Dooku sold Roshti and every other colonist as slaves to the Zygerrians.
Slaves of the Republic[]
After taking over the capital of Kiros, the Jedi High Council sent Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano to search for the missing colonists on Zygerria. After they arrived there, using Darts D'Nar's personal ship, the Tecora, Anakin and Ahsoka sought the queen of Zyggeria, hoping to distract her while Kenobi searched the planet. Acquiring Zygerrian armor, Captain Rex and Obi-Wan infiltrated the planet's prisons, where they found governor Roshti. Roshti, who injured and weak, was initially scared by Kenobi, until the Jedi removed his helmet. However, at this same moment, the Zygerrian guards also learned he was not one of them. They captured Roshti and Kenobi, and took them to arena to be tortured, where Anakin tried to save them and got beaten a couple times. After Anakin and Kenobi were defeated by guards, Kenobi and Roshti were transported to Kadavo, where they saw missing colonists.
