Ian McDiarmid is a Scottish actor and director who has appeared in numerous films and theater productions. He is best known for his portrayal of Darth Sidious in the Star Wars films as well as providing his voice in the animated series, Star Wars Rebels. Voice lines of his from Revenge of the Sith were used in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 episode "Shattered" and the Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1 episode "Aftermath".
