The Imperial Army was the army of the Galactic Empire which evolved from the Grand Army of the Republic of the Galactic Republic. In the first years of the Empire, Clone Troopers made up the majority of the army's forces but they were slowly phased out in favor of conscripted soldiers, known as Stormtroopers.
