Kessel was an Outer Rim planet infamous for its brutal spice mines.
Description[]
Located deep within a nebula known as the Akkadese Maelstrom, Kessel was accessible only via a single corridor called the "Kessel Run" through which starships could safely traverse the maelstrom. While most of the planet was made up of inhospitable wastelands where spices were mined, some regions hosted an oasis of lush forests and mountains in which the ruling class of Kessel resided.
