Lanse Crowder was a male gangster who dealt with artifacts in the underworld.
Biography[]
Pabu[]
At one point in 18 BBY, Lanse Crowder traded an artifact with pirate Phee Genoa in a cantina. He was skeptical that she had brought a child, Omega, to the deal. Genoa explained she was showing Omega the ropes. After verifying its authenticity, Genoa provided full payment for the piece, but Crowder attempted to double-cross her by offering her a poisoned drink. When Genoa didn't fall for it, Crowder pretended to commend her on her prowess while secretly releasing a kouhun under the table.
Before it could fatally sting her, one of Genoa's allies, Hunter, impaled the kouhun with his knife. Angered that both his attempts to betray her failed, Crowder and his men drew their blasters on Genoa, only for her to be backed up by her allies, the rogue clones of Clone Force 99. A shootout ensued in the cantina, with Omega taking the payment back and trapping Crowder under an overhead light. The group then made a hasty getaway in their ship.
Behind the scenes[]
Lanse Crowder first appeared in the Star Wars: The Bad Batch season two episode "Pabu." His introduction was loosely based on the opening scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, when crime leader Lao Che attempts to poison Indiana Jones after trading for a valuable jewel. Crowder was voiced by Steve Blum.
