Nala Se was a female Kaminoan who worked out of the Republic's secret Kaliida Shoals Medical Center, a space station in the Outer Rim intended to facilitate the rehabilitation of wounded clone troopers during the Clone Wars.
Biography[]
At some point, Nala Se began utilizing the services of Omega, a genetically modified clone, in assistance to her medical duties.
Shadow of Malevolence[]
In 21 BBY, General Grievous, who had recently begun to attack Republic forces with the Confederate superweapon Malevolence, was directed by the Confederate Head of State Count Dooku to destroy the Kaliida Shoals Center, as it was the only medical facility for the treatment of injured clone troopers.
Grievous's attack on the Medcenter was anticipated by Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who made preparations for a strike against the Malevolence while Se began the evacuation of Kaliida Shoals. To her dismay, she was unable to remove many clones from the center. Even with the arrival of the Malevolence, Se refused to flee the station and leave her patients behind. However, Skywalker and the Republic's Shadow Squadron arrived and engaged the Malevolence, which was forced to retreat before damaging the station.
Nala Se would later be transferred to a medical station near Ord Cestus, where she would serve alongside High Jedi General Kit Fisto. In the aftermath of a second battle on Geonosis, the station was designated to be the source of much-needed medical supplies for General Mace Windu's forces on Dantooine. However, the clones aboard the Pelta-class frigate TB-73, which was to retrieve the supplies, had been infected by mind-controlling parasites from the Geonosian battlefront. Upon emerging from hyperspace, the out-of-control frigate ran the risk of either colliding with the medical station or docking to spread the disease but was stopped due to the efforts of Fisto and Jedi Padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee.
Conspiracy[]
Later in the Clone Wars, Nala Se was re-stationed in her homeworld, Kamino. After 501st Legion clone trooper Tup" fired upon Jedi General Tiplar during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, he was sent to Kamino for evaluation. Se ordered the clone be terminated so she could perform a full autopsy, which Fives disagreed with. Fives uncovered and removed Tup's inhibitor chip, which Se claimed merely was implanted in clones to inhibit the aggressive behavior found in the clone template Jango Fett. In reality, the chip also contained Order 66, a clone protocol that branded the Jedi as traitors to the Republic, who were to be eliminated immediately.
Fugitive[]
Fives was brought back to the Grand Republic Medical Facility on Coruscant, where he met with Chancellor Palpatine himself. Se, along with Vice-Chancellor Mas Amedda, and Jedi Master Shaak Ti, who had also been stationed on Kamino and accompanied Se to Coruscant, left the room while the Chancellor spoke with Fives privately. As they began to hear blaster firing and shouting, they rushed back in to see Fives aiming his blaster at the Chancellor. Chancellor Palpatine returned the chip to Se, who later gave it to Count Dooku.
Aftermath[]
When Clone Force 99, a squad of modified clones, returned to Kamino, they were greeted by Omega; Nala Se instructed Omega to remain with her. Nala Se later met with Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin, who had arrived at the facility, to assess the viability of using clones in the newly formed Galactic Empire. Nala Se, alongside Lama Su, spoke favorably of the clones. They also informed Tarkin of Clone Force 99's effectiveness, as well as their disregard for authority.
When Clone Force 99 defected from the Empire and returned to Kamino to retrieve Omega, Nala Se assisted in their escape by remotely preventing the bay doors from closing. After Clone Force 99 successfully escaped, Nala Se informed Lama Su of their escape and the loss of Omega. Under Lama Su's instruction, she agreed to refrain from informing the Empire of what had occurred.
Replacements[]
Nala Se explains to Tarkin and Rampart that Crosshair was a good clone because of their training. Rampart then says that they will have a test for Crosshair's squadron. Nala Se, along with Tarkin, Rampart, and Crosshair, discusses the new empire with Nala Se stating that they will need their clones for a better chance in fighting, but Rampart objects saying that skill is the real important part.
Lama Su and Nala Se then meet up in the Tipoca City mess hall and discuss what they must do to get Rampart to trust their clones. Lama Su tells Nala Se that she must train her clones more and get better skills, claiming that their life depends on it.
Reunion[]
Nala Se enters Lama Su's quarters and asks what is next. Lama Su says that the mission on Bracca would ruin their plans. Lama Su says that he wants to send a Bounty Hunter and Nala Se asks if it is wise, and Lama Su says it is their only option.
Bounty Lost[]
When Cad Bane tells Lama Su that he has Omega, Lama Su sends Taun We to Bora Vio over Nala Se. Lama Su tells Nala Se to terminate Omega when she comes. Nala Se sends a bounty hunter to capture Omega and kill Taun We. When Fennec Shand contacts her, she says that Omega is with Clone Force 99 and Nala Se says that is okay and transfers Fennec’s payment.
War-Mantle[]
Lama Su, after hearing what Rampart and Crosshair said about them, summoned Nala Se to his room, where they planned to get the important Kaminoans and flee Kamino. Eventually Rampart caught Nala Se and brought her to Lama Su, who pretended he had no idea what happened. Rampart says that a scientist is necessary but a politician is not. Then Rampart locks Lama Su in his quarters with 2 of his troopers and takes Nala Se away.
Kamino Lost[]
Nala Se was taken to the Empire's secret cloning facilities on Wayland. There she was greeted by a Medical Officer who told her that she will be of great use to the Empire.
