- "I shall reassert our position of neutrality. The talk of an idealist. No, those are the words of a pacifist, and a people who have chosen nonviolent action."
- ―Duchess Satine Kryze and Vice Chair Mas Amedda, arguing the political stance of the New Mandalorians
The New Mandalorians were a large group of pacifistic Mandalorians led by Duchess Satine Kryze . The Death Watch despised them and wanted to "liberate" Mandalore from them on numerous occasions.
Description[]
The New Mandalorias were a pacifist government that rejected the Mandalorians old militant and war-like past and instead “deified” peace.
Government[]
The New Mandalorian regime was ruled by two people. The duchess was the head of state and the prime minister was the head of government. The executive was the ruling council, headed by the duchess, and the prime minister was responsible for the proper functioning of the council. Ministers also attended the meetings of the ruling council. The prime minister was also responsible for the legislature, but the government was handled together with the duchess. The New Mandalorians claimed independence in the war and were also members of the Council of Neutral Systems, which was chaired by their duchess. Although they declared themselves independent in the intergalactic conflict, both the planet and the duchess were more inclined toward the Republic and the duchess had the most allies in the republic.
Society and culture[]
- "Your peaceful ways have paid off. Mandalore has prospered since the last time I was here. Not everyone on Mandalore believes that our commitment to peace is a sign of progress."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze
- "Our people were warriors. Strong. Feared! Now they're ruled by the New Mandalorians who think that being a pacifist is a good thing. They've given away our honor and tradition for peace. Duchess Satine and her corrupt leadership are crushing our souls, destroying our identity!"
- ―Pre Vizsla
The majority of the New Mandalorians belonged to the human race.
The leader of the New Mandalorians, Duchess Satine Kryze, disdained the war, which wiped out almost all of her people, so she and her people broke with ancient warrior and war-loving traditions, so they began to profess and practice a new ideology, the ideology of pacifism.
Not all Mandalorians liked this new government. One group, the Death Watch, believed that Duchess Satine wanted to erase the ancient Mandalorian traditions and even thought that this ideology would make the people soft and weak.
The New Mandalorians were forced to live in domed cities and covered settlements because of the many wars that turned the surface of the planet Mandalore into an uninhabitable desert. Their cities were covered with bio-domes. The buildings in their cities were built in an unique architectural style and their cities were also decorated with murals and exotic ornamental plants. The square, square shape often appeared in their architecture, art, and sculpture.
The attire and hair style were the same in almost every citizen. In summary, the New Mandalorians were a peace-loving and pacifist society who loved to live in harmony and greatly despised violence and war.
History[]
Formation[]
In ancient times, Mandalore had plenty of wars that demolished the planet's surface and almost wiped out its entire inhabitants. After winning a bloody civil war with the help of the Jedi, Duchess Satine Kryze formed a pacifist government, the New Mandalorians, who rebuilt the planet and exiled the remaining warrior Mandalorians to a moon called Concordia.
Clone Wars[]
During the Clone Wars, the planet claimed independence, but rumors are circulating that the duchess supports the separatists, this was not true of course, but a rebel group, the Death Watch (which despised pacifism) negotiated with the separatists to take control of the planet, but they failed.
Later hunger, economic crisis and corruption increased on the planet. Seeing the situation, the corrupt prime minister, Almec, bought food on the black market that was severely of poor quality and children became ill and died due to poor quality food. Prime Minister Almec was later exposed and imprisoned.
End of the regime[]
Towards the end of the war, Death Watch, with the help of a criminal organization called Shadow Collective, carried out a successful coup, taking power over the planet. The duchess was captured and later executed, thus permanently ending the pacifist New Mandalorian government.
