Nolan was a human male lieutenant who served in the Imperial Army during the reign of the Galactic Empire. He was assigned to command a mission with Clone Commando Crosshair to retrieve a cache of Imperial gear from a remote outpost on the planet Barton IV. Nolan was an arrogant officer who disdained serving with Clone Troopers, seeing them as outdated relics. This became apparent while meeting the outpost's clone commander, Mayday, as he sent him on a mission with Crosshair to retrieve the stolen supplies from local insurgents.
When Crosshair returned with an injured Mayday, Nolan only berated them for failing to retrieve the supplies and refused medical aid for the dying clone. After Mayday died, Nolan told Crosshair that he was expendable and, if he ever disrespected him again, he would meet a similar fate. Enraged at Nolan's apathy towards the clones, Crosshair drew his sidearm and shot Nolan in the chest, killing him.
