Oruba was a Hutt and a member of the Hutt Grand Council during the Clone Wars. Around 21 BBY, he discussed the plans to release Ziro from Republic custody with other Hutt council members including Jabba, Gorga, Arok and Marlo, as Ziro had potentially damaging information about Hutt activities.

Later, in 20 BBY, Darth Maul and Savage Opress requested an audience with the Hutt Grand Council in an attempt to get them to join Maul's Shadow Collective. Jabba did not trust the Sith and ordered his bounty hunters to attack the Nightbrothers. The Nightbrothers and their associate Pre Vizsla retreat but come back inside and fight off the guards. They returned to the council chambers to find that all the Hutts but Oruba escaped. Maul interrogated the Hutt for information with the threat of death, and Oruba finally revealed that some of the Hutts were on Tatooine. With Oruba unable to give any more information, Opress swiftly executed Oruba.
