Pod 1977 was a Republic Escape Pod. It was used aboard the Venator-class star destroyer, the Triumphant. During the Triumphant's exploration of the Separatist Secret Weapon, it escaped the ship, after its destruction. All but three pods were destroyed under General Grievous' command and the Malevolence's weaponry. Th first pod was "squeezed" by the Droch-class Boarding Ship leaving two pods, including 1977 alive. It was then seen by Plo Koon and his group. The troops of the Wolfpack attempted to contact, but it was too late. The Droch crushed the pod and all survivors were shot.
