The Providence was the personal starship of pirate Phee Genoa who used it to ferry the plunders from her treasure hunting. Genoa kept her droid's memory banks backed up on the ship in case it was ever destroyed. She also encrypted her ship's navigation computer to cover her tracks during her many far-flung missions.
