The Clone Wars

"Sir, you seem troubled."
"Well, Quinlan Vos has that effect."
Commander Cody and Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]

Quinlan Vos was a Kiffar Jedi Master and once dark acolyte during the Clone Wars. He was an unconventional Jedi whose reckless nature made him stand apart from others within the Order. During the war, he formed a friendship with fellow Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and a partnership (and eventual romantic relationship) with former Separatist assassin, Asajj Ventress.

Biography[]

Born on the planet Kiffu the homeworld of the Kiffar, a near Human species noted for their innate talent for psychometricy and distinctive facial tattoos denoting clan affiliation. As a member of the Vos Clan on his homeworld Quinlan was reluctantly allowed to abandon his family's strong tradition as law enforcers on Kiffu to become a Jedi.

As a youngling Quinlan would meet several other initiates destined for glory in the Jedi Order like Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two would later become good friends after ascending to the rank of padawan with Vos training under Jedi Master Tholme and Kenobi with Qui-Gon Jinn Quinlan would in time become a Jedi Knight who was known for his impulsive behavior and exceptional talent with the force. Some years after attaining Knight status Vos took on a young Twi'lek who he had met and saved from a group of slavers on Ryloth years before as his padawan learner. This Twi'lek girl, Aayla Secura, would become a respected Jedi who served with distinction in the Clone Wars.

Hunt for Ziro[]

During the Clone Wars, Vos teamed with Obi-Wan Kenobi to recapture Ziro the Hutt, who had been freed by bounty hunter, Cad Bane. Vos and Kenobi tracked Ziro first to Nal Hutta, then to Teth where Ziro retrieved Hutt council records from the tomb of his father. They arrived too late, finding Ziro dead at the hands of an unknown assailant. Bane had also arrived at the scene too late and attempted to leave, but Vos and Kenobi confronted him to bring him to justice for holding the Senate hostage, resulting in a duel between them. Vos brawled with Bane but the bounty hunter managed to escape in his starfighter before the Jedi could apprehend them.

Dark Disciple[]

The Jedi Coucil assigned Vos an undercover mission to get close to Sith Lord Count Dooku and assassinate him. He encountered Ventress, Dooku's once personal assassin turned bounty hunter, whose hatred of Dooku far outweighed her hatred of the Jedi Council. They joined forces and she began to train him in the ways of the Dark Side to defeat Dooku. They attempted to assassinate Dooku at a banquet on Raxus, only for the count to overpower them both and capture Vos. In captivity, Vos learned from Dooku that Ventress had slain the Jedi's former master in battle and used that to turn Vos to the Dark Side.

Vos spent six months serving at Dooku's side, publicly known as "Admiral Enigma," dealing the Republic a series of defeats. However, Ventress believed he was merely a propaganda tool and that he was still Dooku's prisoner. She and Kenobi convinced the Jedi Council to mount a rescue mission, which succeeded in bringing Vos back to the Republic. However, later missions that Vos participated in were sabotaged at every turn. When the Jedi attempted to capture Dooku once more over Christophsis, Vos revealed that he had truly fallen to the Dark Side and was still loyal to Dooku. Kenobi and Skywalker captured them both and prepared to bring them back to Coruscant for trial.

Vos and Dooku escaped and attempted to flee in Ventress's starship, but Ventress felt betrayed by Vos's allegiance to Dooku and attacked them both, resulting in their ship crash-landing on Christophsis. As they fled the pursuing Republic forces, Ventress convinced Vos to turn away from Dooku. Dooku lashed out at them both with Force lightning, only for Ventress to take the brunt of the energy to save Vos.

Though Dooku escaped, her sacrifice turned Vos back to the light and she died in her lover's arms. After returning to the Jedi, Vos and Kenobi returned Ventress's body to her Nightsister clan's lair on Dathomir to lay her to rest amongst the spirits of her sisters.
