- "The enemy ships are faster and more maneuverable. I suggest caution."
- ―TV-94, referring to the Arquitens-class light cruiser and Consular-class cruisers
The Arquitens-class light cruiser, more commonly referred to as the Republic Light Cruiser or the Jedi light cruiser, was a small ship used by the Galactic Republic's Navy during the Clone Wars. The Arquitens-class resembled the large Venator-class Star Destroyer with its triangular shaped hull design with three cylindrical engines in the back with a T-shaped control tower. This light cruiser primarily served as an escort ship defending more vulnerable starships from enemy attack. Due to the ship's relatively light weapons profile these cruisers were generally deployed in groups, often as support for Venator Star destroyers.
Armament[]
The Arquitens-class featured a light complement of weapons in comparison to its Separatist counterparts like the Recusant-class and Munificient-class starships. The vessel had two quad laser cannons located on its upper hull on either side of the ship's command tower. On the sides of each light cruiser, four dual laser cannons could be found; these cannons had a large radius of fire. In addition the ship had two pairs of missile tubes.
Complement[]
The Arquitens was a very small class of ship and thus had no landing, fighter or assault craft.
