Continuity[]
Several flashback scenes in the book were depicted in the seventh season of The Clone Wars, albeit with minor differences.
- In the Siege of Mandalore, Maul awaits Ahsoka in a courtyard in Sundari; he taunts her about not being a Jedi anymore, while Ahsoka retorts that he's only "half a Sith." The two cross blades only briefly before Ahsoka's allies trap Maul in a ray shield. In the episode "The Phantom Apprentice," the duel lasts longer: Maul awaits Ahsoka in the throne room at Sundari Royal Palace and their duel takes them to the upper rafters of Sundari. Maul is captured when Ahsoka forces him over the edge, catches him with the Force, and allows the Mandalorians to bind him with Rex stunning him.
- In a couple of flashbacks in the book, Ahsoka's lightsabers are their original green. When Anakin returns them to her in the episodes, however, the blades are blue.
- Another flashback shows Ahsoka leaving her lightsabers behind at the clone gravesite. In the book, the scene is night and Rex has already left. Ahsoka turns her lightsabers on one final time, still glowing green, before leaving them at Rex's false grave. In "Victory and Death," however, the scene takes place during the day and Rex is still present. Ahsoka only looks at her lightsaber before letting it drop to the ground.
- The book also implies that the gravesite is on Mandalore, while the episode shows the burial occurring on an unnamed moon.
