Categories are pages that help editors organize articles. An example of a category would be Clone Troopers. Categories can be added to any page and are located at the very bottom of an article. The Clone Wars Wiki has had a bad category problem, so please read the guidelines below to become familiarized with the do's and dont's of categories. Remember it is not impossible to chage or remove a policy. Just contact an administrator if you wish to do so.

Basics[]

  • Do not add duplicate categories to articles
  • Try to spell categories correctly
  • Do not create a category if there is already one similar to it. For example: Males and Male characters
  • Keep categories generally broad. An example of an unacceptably narrow category would be Citadel episodes.
  • Do not create arguable categories such as Heroes or Main Characters. This is because It is highly debatable whether a character should be categorized as a Hero or not.
  • Like images, if you use common sense when adding categories, these rules above should not be burdensome

Specifics[]

"Season Categories" (ex. Season 1, Season 4)

Season categories should be used for episode articles only and not character articles. When this category is applied to characters, it is not distinct. If you don't understand what I mean by "not distinct" think to yourself and compare it to categories like Clone Troopers or Males.

Humanoid Species/Species

The Species and Humanoid species categories are reserved to species articles only, like the Skakoan article. You may argue that character articles, like Kit Fisto, deserve the Humanoid Species category, but think again and you will notice that Kit Fisto is not a species.

Characters

The Characters category should only be used on character articles. It should not be used on group articles like Wolfpack etc. because Wolfpack is not a character. The same goes for the Males and Females categories. Droids should not be categorized as males or females as they are genderless.

Deceased

The Deceased category should only be used on articles about singular characters, not groups or types of droids. An example of a page that you should not put this category on is B1 Battle Droid. Also remember that this wiki follows the timeline of the Clone Wars television series, so do not add the deceased category to characters who have not died in the television series.

Banned Categories[]

More categories may be added or removed from this page frequently, so we recommend you check back here often

Below is a list of banned categories. A category may be added to this list if it does not follow the category policy and has been used frequently even after several deletions. Use of a banned category may result in a block. If you believe a category does not belong here, please contact an administrator.

  • Heroes
  • Villains
  • Main Characters
  • Minor Characters
  • High Rank Clones
  • Prison Affected Characters
  • Episodes Featuring Recurring Character's death
