The Clone Wars

Yaddle was a female Jedi Master who sat on the Jedi High Council in the final years of the Galactic Republic. She was a member of the same species as Master Yoda and carried a green-bladed lightsaber. She decided to step down from the council following the blockade of Naboo.

Shortly after, she grew concerned for her friend, Jedi Master Dooku, and followed him when he left the Jedi Temple. She then discovered that Dooku was now serving the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. Sidious ordered Dooku to strike Yaddle down to prove his loyalty to the Sith. Yaddle unsuccessfully attempted to sway Dooku back to the light and was killed by him, completing his fall to the Dark Side.

Biography[]

She sat on the council at the time when Qui-Gon Jinn brought young Anakin Skywalker before the Jedi with the belief that he was the Chosen One. Jinn also reported that he fought a Sith Lord on Tatooine, which was met with skepticism by most council members.

Yaddle was one of the few who did not doubt Jinn's claims, but upheld the council's decision to be cautious. As she talked with Jinn following the council meeting, they were approached by Jinn's former master, Dooku, who believed this to be a sign of coming darkness. As Jinn departed for Naboo, Yaddle asked Dooku if he was all right. He responded only that their students grew up so fast before taking his leave.

After Jinn was slain at the hands of Darth Maul, Yaddle invited Dooku to Naboo for his funeral. Dooku declined, holding the council responsible for his former student's death. Dooku then departed the temple in an airspeeder. Concerned for her friend, Yaddle followed Dooku to his rendezvous at an old building in The Works of Coruscant. There she witnessed Dooku conversing with a hooded figure who claimed Jinn's death was necessary for the "greater good," and that more would follow. Yaddle intervened to put an end to the plot, pleading with Dooku to make things right by bringing his Sith master to justice. Darth Sidious told Dooku Yaddle was merely a pawn of the corrupt Senate like all Jedi, and ordered him to kill her to prove his loyalty.

Dooku said it was too late to turn back and fought Yaddle in a lightsaber duel. Yaddle had an opportunity to flee but she continued her attempts to turn Dooku away from evil. Dooku threw her back to the entrance of the hanger, closing the hangar door on top of her. Yaddle used the Force to free herself but the act drained her and she fell at Dooku's mercy. She told him that many suffered for what he called order. Dooku responded that he would grant her peace, killing her with his lightsaber.
