Zak was a Naval Clone Captain under the command of Thire. He was on board when the Separatists attacked his ship as he transported Jedi Master Yoda to Rugosa. He doubted the Jedi's plan of escaping in an escape pod would work, as he thought it would be destroyed until Yoda suggested he launch all pods. Yoda made it safely to the surface as Zak escaped.
